Dudley Business Investment Zone
The Dudley Business Investment Zone is a new initiative led by Dudley Council and will launch on 1st April 2014. The scheme will offer new occupants of vacant space at The Waterfront, Brierley Hill a two-year business rate free period, subject to State Aid limits.
The Waterfront offers high quality office accommodation with good transport links and many facilities on offer.
Existing occupiers already located at The Waterfront who intend to expand their operations in the designated Zone may be eligible for the discount but only on any additional floorspace occupied, over and above the floorspace occupied at the time the Zone is declared (1 April).
The cost of the business rate incentive will be shared equally by the Council and the property owners. The lifetime of the scheme is five years and will close on 31st March 2019. Business rate discounts offered to occupiers before 31st March 2017 will apply for the normal two year maximum period. After 31st March 2017, the business rate discount will be applied on a reducing basis up to 31st March 2019.

The Council reserves the right to review the period of duration or operation of the scheme, and this can be changed by the Council at any time if it so decides.

Business Premises Renovation Allowance (BPRA) provides 100% tax relief on capital expenditure incurred in bringing back into commercial use disused commercial buildings within designated assisted areas.
